During February half term, students had the opportunity to participate in a Maths Challenge Competition which was provided to us by the Mathematical Education on Merseyside Team. There were two challenges - one for year 8s and below and one for year 10s and below. The challenges consisted of 8 questions, focused on this year’s theme of constellations, which required students to use their problem solving and logical reasoning skills to attempt.

Harry (Year 10) and Finn (Year 7) have both received prizes for their incredible entries! Harry received a merit award and Finn a highly commended, as well as both receiving best in school awards for their respective challenges. As a result of their entries, both students have been invited to attend a prize giving evening at the University of Liverpool! There were over 1300 entries in total across 122 different schools for these challenges and we are very proud of all of our students who took the opportunity to take part.
