Our Sixth Form Chemists took part in the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Young Analytical Chemist Competition on Saturday morning. Students needed to determine the mass of Magnesium and Calcium in tablets, as well as a series of other tasks using analytical techniques. It is a grueling 3-hour session with the task given as they walk in and they came out with a score of 83%. The group consisted of Alex, Katie and Shellan. They were a credit to the school and came in second place, narrowly beaten to the post by Ballakermeen High School. Well done!
