Important information regarding the IOM RSE Curriculum

Published Wednesday 1 March 2023

Dear Parent/Carer

I write to you with regard to the recent news articles and social media comments which relate to the IOM RSE Curriculum that has been delivered at QEII and other secondary schools, which is currently paused. I am in no doubt that this has led to speculation and anxiety for our families and the wider community.

I would like to reassure you that, as with any concerns raised, the school has looked into these concerns. Following this, I am confident that there is false and inaccurate information being shared. For openness and transparency, I requested an independent review, in order to offer reassurance to our community, by ensuring that the accurate facts can be established and I am therefore happy to take part in the independent external investigation which is being deployed by the Department of Education, Sport and Culture.

At this time, we would appreciate your ongoing support and ask that you avoid speculation. The safeguarding of our students is paramount. As soon as the review has been undertaken, I will be in touch.

Kind regards

Mrs C Clarke
