Dear Parents/Carers
It has been lovely having everyone back for the past 5 weeks. Thank you for all your support and for the many kind messages you have sent recently thanking staff for their work during lockdown. It is much appreciated, especially as there have been so many negative comments on social media. We know how hard the staff and students worked in very challenging times.
This is just a quick message to alert you to some building work that is going on during the summer break and will affect the main entrance to school. Cladding work is taking place throughout the summer and into the start of next term. This will mean the area by the front and south gable will be restricted to site workers only. There will be the usual one-way system for cars but no parking or waiting at the front of the school. Car parking will be available in the main car park at the rear of the school. We hope that there will still be pedestrian access to enter by the front door but if at any time this is not possible, signs will be up to re-direct you. The office is open 9-4 on working days if you need to come in to deliver or collect anything. On results days in August, the staff will be in the Forster building, so students will need to come to the rear of the school and will not need to access the main building. Students in Y11 and Y13 have been sent information about the results days and support available.
If you come to the Church on a Sunday, access will also be from the rear of the school, not through the main front doors, and car parking will be limited to the rear car park.
I hope this will not cause too much disruption. It will be worth it once the work is finished, I am sure.
Thank you all again. I wish you a relaxed summer and look forward to seeing everyone again in September.
