Travelling to and from QEII High School by bus
Queen Elizabeth II High School is located on the main A1 Road that links the west of the Island to the east. Conveniently the school is served by bus stops directly outside the school and across the road at the entrance to Peel Football Club.
Operated by Bus Vannin, school buses run during term time to enable easy transportation to and from school for our students. The school bus schedule can be subject to change in the event of bad weather or because of road works. Local media will report any changes to school bus timetables.
School buses information and times can be found here and there are frequent service buses to Peel from around the Island, see IOM bus and rail timetables and routes here.
To enjoy discounted travel, students travelling between their home and school can make use of a pre-paid “Go” School travel card. More information on School “Go” cards can be found here.
With a pre-paid “Go” card the current discounted cost of a single school bus journey is 50 pence.
High standards of behaviour are always expected from QEII students using the bus service. Poor behaviour will be investigated and may lead to travel on buses services being withdrawn.
Morning Routine
On arrival at school, students are required to disembark the bus safely and make their way into school in an orderly manner.
Afternoon Routine
At the end of the school day, buses arrive in a specific order. Students wishing to travel home by bus are lined-up at the front of school for the buses that have arrived. All other students are seated in the hall until their bus has arrived.
Car Parking
The school has a generous number of car parking spaces available at the rear of the school, at the front and furthermore at the side of the school.
There are designated disabled parking spaces at the side of the school building adjacent to the tennis courts, directly at the front of school and there are spaces to accommodate disabled minibuses.
General Information
The school is two storeys high and is wheelchair accessible. There are dropped kerbs outside and four lifts throughout the school giving access to the first floor.
Our Reception area is fitted with a portable induction hearing loop.
At the rear of the school, there is a storage facility for bikes, making cycling a great option.
