Last week, the Maths Department held their Western Olympiad for our partner Primary Schools. It was the first time we had been able to hold it for a couple of years due to Covid.
Students from our partner Primaries competed against each other in teams of 4 to win the trophy. There were 9 teams entered and each team had one Year 7 helper to mentor them. All of the activities required a high level of mathematical understanding, as well as requiring logical thinking skills.
Scores were tight throughout with there only being 1 point between some of the teams at the end of the 4 rounds! The eventual winners were Bunscoill with Foxdale as the runners up. Peel Clothworkers Team 1 took third place.
Thank you to all of the teams and staff involved. All of the students had a great afternoon!
