Performing Arts Department Anti-Bullying competition

Published Thursday 14 December 2017

It was a fabulous event which was the culmination of lots of hard work that has been taking place in their Drama lessons. They were each given an introduction into what bullying can feel like for the victim and the different issues and types of bullying. They then devised and rehearsed a piece of work which could be performed through choral speaking, drama, songs, rap and dance. Their individual tutor groups held semi-finals where everyone performed and two groups were selected for the BIG finale! This took place on the Main School Hall stage and the judging panel included the Director of Education, Mr Moorcroft, who remarked that the students were excellent in showing the different aspects of bullying with a very professional approach, which was both informative and enjoyable to watch.

The winners showed us a moving piece of Drama work and they all belong to Mr McCubbin’s tutor group – well done to all!

We look forward to lots of you coming forward for audition for the school show ‘School of Rock’ later on this academic year.
