Visit from Olympic Rugby Sevens star, James Rodwell.

Published Wednesday 23 May 2018

It was a beautiful sunny day in Peel today for us to welcome Olympic Rugby Sevens star, James Rodwell.

The School won the visit due to the great work put in by Tutor Group 8LSL on ‘Get Set Values Awards’. These courses are designed to help young people understand, live and share the Olympic Values of friendship, excellence and respect and the Paralympic Values of inspiration, determination, courage and equality.

A special assembly was held for students in Years 7 and 8 and James talked to the students about the Olympic Values and how he has used them personally in his life and career. He was then happy to answer many questions which were put to him by the students. James had a short tour of the School before running a rugby-based exercise session with Tutor Group 8LSL. He also joined in with the afternoon Games lesson for Year 7.

A great day was had by everyone involved and we are very grateful to James for his inspirational visit!
