Year 8 Cricket champions!

Published Wednesday 27 June 2018

Our Year 8 students have won the 'Stan Foster Trophy' making them the IOM Schools Year 8 champions!

Captained by Carl Hartmann, QEII batted first getting off to a decent start ending their 20 overs with 121-7 with valuable runs from Nathan Williams 21, Carl 19, Joe Humphrey 22 and a valuable finish to the innings by Conor Williams, scoring 11 runs off 4 balls late in the innings to keep the pressure up on KWC.

When QEII went out to bowl they got off to a fantastic start, with KWC at just 8 runs for 5 wickets within the first 6 overs. QEII bowled well throughout with notable performances from Jacob Butler with 3 wickets for just 16 runs, Nathan with 3-14 and Joe with 3-5.

Joint man of the match was given to Nathan and Joe, who are both Year 7's, for their strong performances with bat and ball.

This success was made possible through a relentless enthusiasm and commitment to training from the Year 8's who have added this trophy to the Football one they received last term.
