We are delighted to announce that the local Co-op Food Store has selected to support our School Association as part of their ‘Local Community Fund’. Every time you use your Membership Card and purchase Co-op branded products, a portion of the value of your goods will be donated to our cause.
If you aren’t already a member, please be sure to pick up a leaflet in store.
Alternatively, you can join the scheme by visiting the Co-op website.
Can you please help?
We need a new Chairperson for the School Association. Can you spare time to attend four meetings annually? The Chairperson will provide leadership, ensuring the committee functions effectively, and is the representative of the charity.
This position can be undertaken by anyone and you don’t need to have children at the school. Friends and family are all suitable candidates.
Please contact Sue Ferns on 841000 if you would like more information on the role. Thank you.
QEII School Association is a registered charity providing the children with items that the school budget can’t fund, such as prize giving prizes, study aids-MyMaths and Linguascope, school trips and equipment.
Our Science Department have recently been the grateful recipients of funding from the School Association which has allowed them to buy ten new state-of-the-art microscopes. Mr Buchanan, Head of Science, said “Our current microscopes were of a high standard in their day but some of them are nearly as old as the school and we can no longer get parts for them. Without the help of the School Association making large one off purchases like this is very difficult. These microscopes will serve the school for a minimum of another 20 years which is a great legacy for all those involved in raising the funds. I would like to thank members of the School Association, and those who attend their events, for their help on behalf of the Science Department and the students here at QEII High School”.
