A Midsummer Night's Dream

Published Monday 15 July 2019

Earlier this month, our talented students here at QEII showed commitment and great talent in bringing to life Shakespeare’s classic ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Students acted, controlled lights and sound, worked back stage and made props and costumes. It certainly was highly comical and enthralling, from the dim witted mechanicals, feckless lovers to the warring fairies. We would also like to thank staff who helped out in front of house, helping to make the evenings run smoothly and enjoyably!

Audiences were delighted and entertained by the show which was set in the mid-twentieth century. The students wore a range of fun and colourful costumes, organised and customised by Ms Clucas. The play tried to be environmentally minded and we used resources that we already had, which is good for the School and the environment. The students were astounding in their learning of vast scripts and interpreting them with such insight and performing them with such flair. It was an honour to work with such amazing students!
