Our Science curriculum has been crafted with the aim of providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the world and how scientific concepts have influenced society. Our goal is to foster a love of science in all students, regardless of their background, and inspire them to continue to use it throughout their education and future careers.
We believe in a progressive approach to learning, where students build upon their knowledge each year, starting with a strong foundation and gradually increasing in complexity as they advance through the key stages. At Key Stage 3, our Science curriculum aims to give students a broad base of knowledge and an overview of important scientific discoveries and theories.
In Key Stage 4, all students will study Biology, Chemistry, and Physics through the Edexcel GCSE (9-1) program, which has recently been adopted by all five secondary schools on the Isle of Man. The curriculum revisits and expands upon Key Stage 3 topics, providing students with a solid foundation in science. Practical work is emphasized throughout the course, with students completing 18 required core practical sessions as well as additional lessons to further their learning.
