The world around us is changing at a rate never seen before and we strive to help you understand your place in this diverse global community by equipping you with the cultural capital to be an informed and active member of society, both now and in the future. Geography is truly a ‘global’ subject, with topics, themes and skills from our lessons appearing in various other subjects around the school. Geography focuses on not only how the world works, but how these processes impact people and the environment at a local, national and international scale.

The topics delivered throughout Key Stage 3 will develop your ability to demonstrate our CARE values in and outside of school, as well as building a strong foundation of knowledge for the optional GCSE and A Level courses. Our focus on people and the environment with local examples will gradually build your knowledge to give you the courage of voicing your opinion on matters important to you, foster an endeavour to actively improve your local area, practice respect for others beliefs and build an aspiration to shape your own future in a responsible manner.
