Religious Studies will provide students with a positive insight into questions of spiritual, moral, philosophical and ethical value at QEII High School throughout KS3, KS4 and through chosen options at KS4 and A-Level if chosen.

Our curriculum which is rich in cultural capital will provide students with an understanding of the social and spiritual mutually shared world around them from a local, national, and global context. Students will have clear support building up tolerance and sympathy with others in society. Our sensitive cultural focus will equip students to understand and analyse ethical issues facing our community.

Key religious, philosophical beliefs and alternative responses are explored to develop tolerance and understanding of our shared community. We study key faith beliefs, the challenges of scriptures and alternative secular responses to encourage students to develop a moral compass and a desire for academic knowledge. Students are shown how our subject’s values lie at the heart of a positive society and we encourage a deep investigation into the philosophical questions arising that lead to personal character building.
