Students should leave QEII High School with a positive experience of studying History, whether they finish at the end of KS3, IGCSE, or A-Level.
Our knowledge rich curriculum will provide students with an understanding of the world around them in a local, national, and global context. Students will have clear frameworks in their mind on key concepts of power, economics, society, and culture, which will equip them to understand issues in the present day, and have the historical literacy to study History independently.
Key values are encouraged both in the subjects that we learn, as well as the activities that we undertake. We study historical figures and people through challenging periods to instil respect, and push students to be courageous in the activities undertaken, which often include leadership roles. Students are made aware of pathways so that they can have an accurate aspiration, and we encourage hard work in order for them to achieve it.
